New Works on Paper

Nick Hunt (b. 1990) was raised in Richmond, California and moved to Humboldt County in 2008 to attend Humboldt State University. His professional art career began in 2013 at True Nature Tattoo, where he worked for 12 years. In 2025, he opened his own shop and studio, Folk Art Tattoo, in Blue Lake, California.

This series of work was produced at Hunt’s studio using gouache, ink and colored pencil on paper. His paintings are inspired by the opulent interiors of tattoo shops around the world. Drawing on the iconography, colors, and textures of traditional Eastern and Western tattoo motifs.

Nick Hunt’s ‘New Works on Paper’ will be on display from July 3rd through August 28th at Uncoded Studio.

Uncoded Studio is open for arts Alive the first Saturday of each month from 6-9 pm and by appointment most other days of the week. Contact Hello@uncodedstudio.com to arrange a viewing. Uncoded Studio is located at 524 5th st. in Eureka, California.
